Telogen Effluvium
Telogen effluvium is one of the most common causes of sudden hair shedding. Unlike male or female pattern hair loss, which develops gradually over many years, telogen effluvium typically causes a noticeable increase in hair loss over a period of weeks to months.
Although losing large amounts of hair can be alarming, telogen effluvium is usually temporary, and most people experience gradual regrowth once the underlying trigger has resolved.
At Mermaid Beach Dermatology, our Specialist Dermatologists assess the underlying cause of hair shedding and provide personalised treatment plans to support healthy hair regrowth.
