As a Fellow of the Australasian College Surgeons, Dr Sparks is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon on the Gold Coast, with a special interest in skin cancer, deep plane face and neck lift surgery as well as facial plastic surgery more broadly.

As the only dual-trained Plastic and Craniofacial surgeon on the Gold Coast, Dr Sparks brings significant depth of anatomical knowledge to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. His training extends beyond Australian shores, with sub-specialty fellowship training in craniofacial and facial palsy surgery at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada, and dedicated observerships with deep plane facelift and rhinoplasty surgeons in Vancouver (Canada), Beverly Hills in California (USA) and Harley Street in London (UK).

This breadth of international training, combined with over a decade of surgical experience, underpins an approach to facial aesthetic surgery that is precise, structurally informed, and uncompromisingly focused on anatomically grounded outcomes. Deep plane facelift surgery — the most anatomically sophisticated approach to address features of facial and neck ageing  — demands exactly the kind of three-dimensional facial understanding that craniofacial training uniquely provides.

Dr Sparks holds a PhD in Regenerative Medicine and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed international publications, bringing a research-driven rigour to every aspect of his surgical practice. He is a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, and is frequently invited to speak at major surgical meetings and in the media.
